The Amstelpark lies on the west bank of the river Amstel in the Southern part of Amsterdam. It became well-known when the Floriade was located here in 1972. The Floriade is an international horticultural exhibition which is held every ten years. Many countries from all over the world contribute to the exhibition. A number of artistic, architectural and architectural works can be seen in and around the Amstelpark.
